The second school of KEF, Soan Valley Public School (SVPS), is part of a complex which houses the school, The KEF Institute of Teacher Education (ITE), a Hostel for female trainee teachers and four self-contained apartments for foreign master trainers. It is situated in rural Basali, a small village approximately 35km North of Islamabad. The school was commissioned in May 2005.
Soan Valley Public School is a day school with a highly trained faculty, providing education from Prep to Grade XII. Like all our partner organisation’s schools the medium of instruction in SVPS is English. The school provides a unique opportunity to the underprivileged children of Basali by bringing 21st century education to their doorsteps. In line with KEF policy (our partner organisation in Pakistan), 51% places are reserved for girls. SVPS also provides practical teaching experience for trainee teachers from the adjoining ITE, through placements within the school.
Set in beautiful secure surroundings, Soan Valley School is the equal of any modern school in a major city. It provides excellent facilities for its students, including an ICT lab, a language laboratory, a library with over 10,000 books, an arts and crafts room, a multipurpose hall and extensive playgrounds.
